Sun Thai Restaurant, located in Ma On Shan Plaza, welcomes guests with its traditional decor and spacious environment, specializing in Thai cuisine with a touch of Southeast Asian flair. The restaurant offers a special "1:00 PM discount" offer, replacing the limited-time dine-in policy, and also provides discounts during the afternoon hours – a thoughtful touch that deserves praise.

The restaurant primarily caters to sophisticated diners, and while it's always bustling, the spaciousness maintains an elegant and comfortable atmosphere. I happened to pass by at lunchtime last time and tried the Hainanese chicken rice set meal for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the Japanese bento-style presentation: tender chicken with fragrant rice, accompanied by mixed vegetables and a clear soup – a delightful surprise. Returning during the summer afternoon, I upgraded the appetizer "Flying Water Spinach" and the special drink "Coconut Ice." However, the water spinach was unexpectedly served as a mixed vegetable platter, which was slightly disappointing; the Hainanese chicken was also slightly less appealing due to the summer rush, but the rice was still fragrant and the mixed vegetables were refreshing, making the overall meal still quite delicious.

It's worth mentioning that the restaurant offers complimentary water 👏, and most of the staff are from Thailand and Southeast Asia, fluent in Cantonese. Even on busy weekends, they maintain a friendly smile and efficient service 😊. Although the summer crowds made service a little hectic, the overall atmosphere remained friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Perhaps I'll come back after the summer holidays when it's less busy; hopefully, the experience will be even better.

In summary:
Sun Tai Southeast Asian Restaurant wins with its traditional atmosphere, friendly service, and reasonable prices. While there were occasional minor disappointments, it's still a Thai restaurant worth trying at Ma On Shan Plaza.

Thai street-style charm and authentic dishes 🌙✨ Walking into [Soi Thong銅巷] feels like stepping straight into a Bangkok night market

Thai street-style charm and authentic dishes

🌙✨ Walking into [Soi Thong銅巷] feels like stepping straight into a Bangkok night market. The restaurant captures the essence of Thai street culture with corrugated metal walls, vintage Thai advertisements, and a lively buzz that makes you forget you’re in the city. It’s casual yet atmospheric, perfect for those craving authentic Thai flavors with a touch of nostalgia.

Firstly,
[Hainanese Chicken Yellow Oil Rice]
This dish easily became my favorite of the night. The portion was just right, and the chicken was fresh, tender, and juicy. What stood out was the inclusion of chicken wings and tomato, adding both texture and balance to the plate. The rice carried that signature golden sheen from the chicken oil, fragrant yet not overpowering. Every bite felt comforting, simple, and perfectly executed.

Secondly,
[Beef Boat Noodle]
The boat noodles came steaming hot, rich with flavor. The beef slices were tender, and the broth packed a punch. However, I found the soup slightly too salty and heavy for my taste. For those who prefer a non-spicy version, which might suit diners looking for a gentler flavor profile. Still, the depth of the broth shows the kitchen’s dedication to authenticity.

Also their Service & Atmosphere:
Staff were welcoming and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The casual street-style décor paired with friendly service created a warm, inviting vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can drop by after work or gather with friends for a late-night meal.

Finally Overall Impression:
It has quickly earned a spot as one of my favorite Thai shops in town. The Hainanese chicken rice is a must-try, while their boat noodles are flavorful but might be best for those who enjoy a very stronger broth. With its street-style charm and authentic dishes, this restaurant is worth me to revisit.

✨ Classic Thai flavors with reliable packaging [Thai Hill] Weekend Takeaway Review✨

Classic Thai flavors with reliable packaging [Thai Hill] Weekend Takeaway Review✨

A a mix of classic  Thai flavors with reliable packaging that makes the experience smooth and enjoyable.

🍽️ Weekend I have order:
[Hainanese Chicken Butter Rice]: Fragrant rice with a buttery aroma paired with tender chicken. Comforting and flavorful.

[Charcoal Grilled Pork Neck[: Smoky, juicy, and slightly chewy with a rich savory taste. A must-try for meat lovers.

[Tom Yum Kung Seafood Soup]: Bold and tangy with a spicy kick. Packed with fresh seafood, and impressively, the takeaway packaging held up perfectly—no leaks at all! 👍🏽

[Thai Green Papaya Salad]: Crisp, refreshing, and tangy with just the right amount of spice to awaken the palate.

Packaging & Management:
One of the standout points is the thoughtful packaging. Even with a soup as intense as Tom Yum Kung, everything arrived intact without spills. This attention to detail makes the takeaway experience stress-free.

Overall Taste & Value:
The flavors lean toward the heavier side, perfect for those who enjoy bold, spicy, and tangy notes. Prices are mid-range, not exactly cheap, but fair considering the quality and portion sizes. While not every dish is extraordinary, the consistency and strong flavors make it worth revisiting.

Verdict:
For anyone craving Thai food with a punchy flavor profile, It is a solid choice. I’ll definitely encall again for another weekend treat!

Kindly reminder: Sunday Closed? Please  check it firstly.?

Fast service! Authentic Thai flavor!

[Brunch Set
Green curry chicken with jasmine rice

  Tom Yum Fishball noodle soup

  Thai Style Chicken feet salad

  Prawm sashimi

  Mango pamelo salad

Drinks
  Young coconut
  Thai milk tea

Kopitiam by Saya

Kopitiam by Saya in Tsuen Wan immediately struck me as "great service! Fast service! Authentic Thai flavor!" The restaurant specializes in modern Thai cuisine, blending understated luxury with a Western bar ambiance. Soft English music plays throughout, creating a stylish yet comfortable atmosphere. Even before noon, a long queue had formed, and the restaurant was packed. The 75-minute lunch time limit might be a challenge for a slow eater like myself, but thankfully the food came out incredibly quickly, preventing any feeling of pressure.

While the exterior resembles a high-end restaurant, the prices on the large menu outside are above average. The food is of decent quality, but the spiciness has been noticeably reduced, perhaps to cater to local tastes. It's worth noting that while the menu appears extensive, it lacks some classic Thai dishes like Hainanese chicken and stir-fried vermicelli with prawns, reflecting the restaurant's attempt to incorporate Western cooking techniques into Thai cuisine, but the creativity isn't particularly outstanding. The ingredients are generally ordinary, and most of the more appealing dishes are over HK$100, making the value for money a matter of personal opinion.

Lunch Experience: [
Brunch Set]
Main Dishes: Green
Curry Chicken with Jasmine Rice Although
there was no red curry, the green curry was subtly spicy and the chicken skin was crispy and tender,
which was satisfying.   Tom Yum Fishball Noodle Soup (Traditional Tom Yum Clear Soup Fishball Noodle Soup [Fried Wonton Skin, Thai Fish Balls, Fish Slices, Minced Pork]) The restaurant's signature dish, the fried wonton skin was crispy, the fish balls were large and bouncy, and the fish slices were smooth. Although it was a clear soup version rather than a thick red Tom Yum soup, the addition of minced pork and chili sauce enhanced the spiciness, living up to its reputation. However, at nearly 90 yuan a bowl the price for lunch was a bit high. Add-on Side Dishes [Extra Cost]   Thai Style Chicken Feet Salad The spicy and sour chicken feet were authentic and a must-order appetizer.    Prawn Sashimi : The prawn sashimi was a bit disappointing; the prawns were small and lacked freshness, which was not improved even with the spicy and sour sauce.  Mango pamelo   salad : Refreshing and delicious, but the portion was a bit small. Drinks:   Young coconut Sweet and refreshing, instantly transporting you to Thailand.  Thai   milk tea : Rich and unique, a must-have for Thai cuisine. Service and atmosphere: Despite the packed restaurant, staff had to quickly serve dishes and clear bowls, but remained polite and attentive. The Thai female manager's thank-you note in Thai at the end was particularly heartwarming. The restaurant also thoughtfully reminded diners that lunch is from 12-4 pm, with the last order at 3:30 pm. Summary: Kopitiam by Saya excels in atmosphere, service, and speed of service. The dishes are of high quality but lean towards local flavors, not very spicy, and the ingredients aren't particularly special. It lacks some classic Thai dishes and has limited creativity, making it relatively expensive. However, if you're looking for a comfortable environment and good service, this is still a worthwhile new-style Thai restaurant to try.

Suzuya Highly Recommend
